if you give a kid a passport family with mom, dad and four young boys standing in front on scenic green landscape

If you give a kid a passport, you get to show them the world.

Raising citizens of the world, one stamp at a time.

We moved from America eight years ago, spent seven years living and working in Africa, and landed last year in a small German town with our four boys and eleven passports. We are somewhere between an expat and immigrant and local family, unsure where time will bring us next.

where we are + where we’re going

    Saarland, Germany

I would not have known Saarland existed if my husband hadn’t grown up here. Germany’s second smallest state, tucked in the southwest near France.. We are working through our favorite places and sharing them all.

    Spring break river cruise

A 5-night trip along the Danube. We visited Vienna, Linz, Melk and Bratislava. We have been documenting our journey. Follow along for all our cruise adventure details.

    Skiing in the Black Forest

Our first proper ski week as a family of six. Lessons learned, falls taken, and a few very proud boys at the bottom of the slope.

    Long weekend in London

A trip across the Channel is coming. More details once we’re safely on the other side. We are looking forward to a quick escape!

we didn’t plan to stay overseas, but 8 years later we love the adventure!

I’m an American mom of four boys living in Saarland, Germany with my husband Dominik. We met on an airplane (of course), tried the whole “American dream,” traded our dual-career US life for seven years across East and Southern Africa, and then landed in Germany in 2025. Along the way we had four incredible boys who are along for the ride.
